Dear lord… the crescendo… <3
A rare natural phenomenon turns one of Austria’s most beautiful hiking trails into a 10 meter-deep lake, for half the year.
Located at the foot of the Hochschwab Mountains, in Tragoess, Styria, Green Lake is one of the most bizarre natural phenomena in the world. During the cold winter months, this place is almost completely dry, and used as a country park where hikers love to come and spend some time away from urban chaos. But as soon as temperatures rise, the snow and ice covering the mountaintops begin to melt, and the water pours down, filling the basin below with crystal-clear water.
Water levels go from one-two meters at most, to over 10 meters, in the early summer. The waters of Green Lake are highest in June, when this extraordinary place is invaded by divers, curious to see what a mountain park looks like underwater. Fish swimming over wooden benches, a grass-covered bottom, trees, roads, roads and even bridges create a surreal setting that feels like it belongs on dry ground. That’s because for half of the year, that’s exactly where it’s at.

moviebarcode » The Wizard of Oz (1939)
I just stumbled across a great new tumblr called Movie Barcode, which takes every frame of a film and condenses it down to a 1 pixel bar. While they are all gorgeous pieces of postmodern art, I think the this Wizard of Oz barcode is a good one to look at first:
You can clearly see the sepia tones of Kansas before the flares of the Yellow Brick Road, then on to Emerald City just a past the halfway mark. It gets dark as the Wicked Witch of the West wages war with the help of flying monkeys before the quick wrap up in Oz before a return to Kansas.

You see that bullet?
It belongs to a .50 caliber.
You know how many inches it is?
About 5.
You know who’s taking the hits?
Libyans.
Do you know how much of an impact this is on a person’s body?
It tears them apart.
Gaddafi you are a terrible, terrible man. Subhan’Allah. Words cannot express how I and many others feel about you right now.

Stephen Wiltshire. This young artist is grabbing a lot of attention by the likes of CBS and other national news outlets. Stephen has been drawing cities since being diagnosed with autism at a young age, saying it’s his way to express himself. What’s unique about this artist though is that all he needs is a 20 minute helicopter ride above New York and after 7 days, 12 pens, and a lot of music on his ipod, he finishes the massive 18 ft accurate depiction of the city all from memory. He’s so accurate that when drawing Rome, he drew the exact number of columns in the Pantheon. His work is being shown at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute along with his permanent gallery in the Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mal.

And you look like this:
And you think this:
And you really wanna do this:
And even a little of this:
But all you can manage is this:
And then they go:
And you’re like:
And then they’re like:
And you’re all like:
And then they’re like:
And your friends were all set:
And you try to go back:
And your final response:
.
